“Hey Josh, wassup?” Andrew greeted the young man casually and Josh responded. The two soon started talking about things even Mary did not understand.

Football, computer games and all. Devil May Cry was one of the games Joshua brought up and he was both pleased and shocked that the man knew that one too. They talked about Sparda and her husband Anthens who had been held captive and how their sons had now grown and wanted to take vengeance and see that the father is released from hell.

Mary thought the game was evil and began to advise them both against it. They both laughed and giggled watching her make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Soon, a truck arrived and they were on their way to the house, not their mother though, she was taken to Aunty Hannah’s house. Aunty Hannah was Andrew’s Aunt and that was all they knew about her. Mary had insisted they followed their mother to Aunty Hannah’s house first and the sight she met was just amazing. The woman lived in a room self-con with her sixteen years old daughter. The girl jumped on Andrew once she saw them. She couldn’t stop talking about school and her new found crush, Jerry. Mary knew they were not related from the way the girl kept bantering.

“Good afternoon ma.” She finally greeted Mary who simply smiled back and greeted her softly.

“Kai! Aunty you are fine oo.” She added and both Mary and Joshua laughed. Joshua liked the girl. She was lively and very friendly and it wasn’t long before the two clicked and began to talk.

The house was very comfy. The living room was beautiful and anyone would see at first sight that the theme colour had carefully been chosen. Milk and brown. The chairs were soft and looked like they had just been made.

“Good afternoon ma, ooo” Mary’s mother greeted Aunty Hannah, almost squatting. The woman hoisted her off her knee immediately.

“Haba now, we are sisters, don’t knee for me.”

The woman told her and Mary was glad her mother wasn’t dramatic about the whole thing. They set out and left once they were sure everyone was settled in.

Andrew couldn’t wait for them to be in the car, he loved to stare at Mary. She was that beautiful as far as he was concerned.

His house was beautiful, it was a room self-con, but it carried an ambiance of comfort that even the blind could feel. The living room had a plasma hanging on the wall, a home theater set sat right beneath the Tv. The cushion was joined and so the it formed a semi-circle in the living room. The center table was a portable glasssy design that matched the terrazzo floor, black and shiny. The seat was also black, with throw pillows that were almost the size of a normal pillow. They were huge.

“Wow!” Mary exhaled. “Your house is…um…”

“Beautiful.” Joshua helped her with the word.

“Thanks.” He told them both and proceeded into the room with some of their belongings. Mary and Joshua followed him. The bed was a king size bed, the duvet was a thick purple and white design. Joshua jumped on the bed, while his sister mused at Andrew. There was a black cushion in the room, a small plasma hung on the wall, a pair of game pads were on the floor in the room.

“Did you say you are single?” Mary asked smiling in shock.

“Very single.” He responded smiling back and giving his usual long stare.

“May I use your restroom, please?” Mary asked and waited for him to lead her into the restroom that was just inside the room they had entered.

“You like my sister, don’t you?” Joshua started.

Andrew’s eyes widened in shock. Why was he asking? The woman was in a relationship,

he wasn’t ready to be the reason she would break that up.

“As a friend, yes.” He answered, trying not to put ideas into his head. Truth be told, he loved Mary, but she belonged to another man. At least she hadn’t said otherwise.

She soon came out of the bathroom and asked the young men to excuse her that she needed to bathe, the two funnily dragged each other out like they had known each other for a very long time.

In fifteen minutes, she was back in the living room. Andrew sighed at the sight he saw in front of him. She was beautiful. Josh was determined to be observant. Monitoring every eye movement that happened. He cleared his throat to clear the awkward silence…
