As a script writer, I start with an outline that helps me later write the main work. Consider the outline as a skeletal framework of the main script and every single time, I just don’t follow my own outline when the main work starts.
Do you know why?
What an outline does for me is that it opens me up to what is possible in the storytelling process. But the main work gives me a broader view of what is possible with my story.
Does it mean that my story will come out perfect after my first draft? Not really, but my story would have gone through so many phases that you cannot but like it at first reading. Dear storyteller, it is what you want to do, endear your audience to your storytelling prowess. Don’t write your work like you don’t care, you want to be at the top by being original, entertaining and loud. There is a difference between history and storytelling. Don’t bite others with your work.
And hey, dear writer, don’t bug yourself too much over it. You will do well. There are other processes involved, but trust me, you can have an amazing script out that makes the producer love you and not just the script you are writing. 😜😍
You must always remember that it ain’t just a out writing a script, it is about being a storyteller at every phase all through. You don’t want to lose your magical touch.
